Here comes the great Vangelis again for the 902nd Soundtrack of the Week: La Fete Sauvage!

This is a documentary about wildlife in Africa, apparently. The presentation of the music is in two big chunks that add up to about thirty-eight minutes of music.

The first chunk mixes African percussion and flute playing and chanting with animal sounds and some dreamy Vangelis synth work.

The second part is pretty much all keyboards and synthesizers, layered with different textures and tones. There are parts that sound like a human voices singing together but I can't swear it's not some other kind of synth.

Melodically it's an exploration of a theme that's a bit like some of Morricone's love-theme type of stuff.
